The Building Process

10 Steps to Building a New Home with Century Custom Homes

  1. Choose the home site.  We can show you lots in our inventory as well as additional available lots.  If you have your own property, we can walk together to decide if we need to custom draw a plan or choose from our library of existing plans.

  2. Review plans.  At our initial meeting, we can determine the approximate size and lay-out of the home you are looking for.  You will then be provided with several plans to review.  We can also arrange a meeting with our designer, if you desire a plan drawn from scratch.

  3. Review Specifications.  CCH will provide you with an updated list of standard specifications that alone will create a beautiful home.  Any additional items will be priced very fairly with an ultimate goal of providing you a high quality home at a great price.

  4. Finalize Purchase.  We will meet to go over final plan changes and pricing.  After an agreement is signed, we will walk you through the next few steps with the bank for the construction loan and submit your package to the bank as well as the city for permitting.
CCH recommends First United Bank for our interim construction loans.

  5. Decorating.  While the loan review is in process, our design consultant will contact you for a meeting to go over your paint, brick, stone, granite, carpet, wood and tile selections.  She will walk you through each item and allow you time to make these important decisions.  Some follow up meetings may occur at the showroom.

  6. Permits received and Loan in Place.  We will be ready to start the following day after receiving the permit.  Dirt work will start followed by rough plumbing.

  7. During the Build.  You will be called on regularly to meet with the builder to walk your home site and make sure everything is to your expectations.  The builder is available as often as needed for personal one-on-one meetings.

  8. Progress.  The builder will keep you informed of the tenative schedule on a regular basis as certain bench marks are passed.  Some flexibility is available if we need to speed up or slow down the project to coincide with the sale of your existing residence.

  9. Completion.  After the city gives us a certificate of occupancy inspection, you will be given the opportunity to create a detailed list of punch items for us to complete your home.  When the home is complete, you will be provided with your "Strucsure" 10 Year warranty.

  10. Enjoy your brand new home!
